In celebration of 250 years since the birth of Ludwig Van Beethoven Sinfoníuhljómsveit Norðurlands will perform one of his most popular work, fifth symphony.
It was also a turning point for composer Jón Hlöðver who celebrated 75 years and legendary pilot Arngrímur Jóhannsson who celebrated 80 years when Beethoven’s 250 birthday was in 2020.
To celebrate, SN is going to premier a new piece for a symphony orchestra and a Morse code transmitter. Soloist, performing on Morse transmitter will be Arngrímur himself.
The piece is meant to preserve the language of MORSE. Fewer and fewer people on earth understand and speak the language.
