The circus band of the Northern Symphony Orchestra welcomes you to the musical world of the circus!

The show will feature upbeat and fun music inspired by the amazing tunes of the circus, including songs from the cartoon Dumbo, Entrance of the Gladiators and Can-Can.

The circus director is none other than Margrét Eir Hönnudóttir.

Family-friendly entertainment where the audience has the opportunity to participate in the show as well as meet the instrumentalists and try various instruments.

Special guests will be students from the wind ensembles of the Music School in Akureyri and members of the Akureyri Wind Orchestra.

Sóley Björk Einarsdóttir is in charge of conducting and arrangements.

The wind ensembles of the Music School in Akureyri are composed of brass and percussion students of all ages. The bands play a variety of music and perform at various events in Akureyri. For example, their annual Halloween concert has been a hit with the townspeople.

Akureyri’s brass band has served and entertained the people of Akureyri for 80 years, brought many happy moments to the townspeople and played a part in putting a festive touch on numerous gatherings during this period.

At times of celebration, trumpet ensembles are sought out, and their playing is indispensable when there are special occasions for celebrations.
