SinfoniaNord will start the new year with a bang with a Gala New Years concert starring some of Iceland´s brightest opera stars. Daníel Þorsteinsson put together the festive program which includes waltzes, polkas, arias and overtures by composers like Prokofiev and Strauss. Daníel will also conduct the orchestra as they premiere a new Fantasia by the local composer Michael Jón Clarke. The opera singers at the concert are as mentioned before, household names in the Icelandic opera scene and include Þóra Einarsdóttir, Andri Björn Róbertsson, Hanna Dóra Sturludóttir and Dagur Þorgrímsson.
